1999-2009 (A decade not too long ago...)

So, it's been a decade eh? Well, this 10 years is the most interesting and memoriable for me. Why is that so? Guess what, I was graduated 2 times(of course, primary and secondary), got lotsa awards(well, really lotsa lots!), learn new stuffs and many interesting things happened in my life!

These were the things which I am very happy!
The changes of technology

oh yea, 1999 is the world's most feared Y2K virus and many superstitious beliefs about the end of the world, but in a blink of an eye, its already 10 years! =)

1. The birth of blogging and the introduction of web 2.0- ah yes, which contributes and helps a lot in my life!
2. The Birth of social networking- As I remembered, my first social networking is Friendster and hi5....its been a long way, now I joined lotsa sites including the famous Facebook! And Facebook is now the world's no1 most famous social networking site!
3. Microblogging - This is the most interesting one, Twitter, plurk and so on, lotsa fun stuffs which appeared in just this 10 decades!
4. Hmmm.....for gamers, the "World of Warcraft"online game hit worldwide and its still the No1 online game! And also, DOTA, which is still played till today! Woot!!

The changes of my life

I grow, learn and never stop learning, till this day.....The Story of me in my primary and secondary life is very unique and each chapters tells different stories.

I remembered when leave my home and entered secondary school...I was still young, and very unprepared to face the world....but I continue to grow stronger and learn! Those days were the golden days of my youth life.....And it's also the turning point where I started to grew deeply interested in computing as well as designing.

In this 10 years, I lost 4 of my best friends....and this is the most hurtful moment in my life...I wish they are happy now somewhere...and I am glad and proud to say that, thanks for being in my life!

I also lost my best uncle and my beloved Grandpa....both of them, contributed dreams and inspirations into my life. Now they finally rest, someplace else which I could not reach....but still I will always remembers their smile, their love which they poured into my life.

As the clocks ticking....and New years is just around the corner, I continue to seek new knowledge and appreciate life.....
Wishing everyone a happy New Year! =)

Time....

As the new year approaches, we remembered all the past activities and events which we all experienced. And now, we have little hour, minute and seconds to spare before saying good bye to year 2009.....so no time to waste, time is ticking and do plan something memorable and interesting to end the year before welcoming the new year! So what's your plan?

As for me, M planning to view the last sunset of 2009 at beach just outside my housing and then capture some photos! I will surely will never forget the past events. For now, it's TIME to countdown to the new year! =)

Remember this:

"Every morning you are handed 24 golden hours. They are one
of the few things in this world that you get free of charge.
If you had all the money in the world, you couldn't buy an extra
hour. What will you do with this priceless treasure?"

Love and Friendship...

Hahaha, finally...M back to share more of my experiences! For those who visited here for the first time, I used to write values of love, relationship and friendship. Visit my old post about Love and relationships and Friendship values (Some may be repeating because it shares the same meaning)

Ok....Friendship and love, different matter? Yes, both holds different meanings rite? But I think of a quote, see....relationship is social and love is chemistry(in feelings).....so I ended up with this idea:

Friendship often ends in love
True? Yeap, mostly couples start from friends...there were many stages before you truly love each other. But in this concept, friendship ends and love starts because friendship and love has different concepts. When love blooms, the friendship is upgraded and the value of friendship (or may i say the term) has come to an end and love took its place.

But...how about......

Love in Friendship?
In my perspective, NEVER! So to straighten the bonds of friendship, the love of friendship must be there in order to share the respect of the relationship. So when the love for friendship is there, it never ends! Get my idea?

Therefore, The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him/her and is willing to trust him/her.

Well, it's just to tell you that, no matter you are in love or not, do not forget the values of friendship and also Love. Cherish every moment you have =)

Okaiz, stop here now~

Plurk secrets (Part 2)

Continued.....now i guess most readers(Especially plurk users) wants to read this part....How to increase, maintain karma and reach plurk nirvana? Now let me share 5 tips with you all so you can enjoy and maintain your social life and also plurk =)

Tips 1: Plurk at least 5 times a day

As you know la, plurk have eyes...... and I meant it! Every 4 hours, plurk will help you update your karma points, so how does it works?Plurk intervals come in different hours....Plurk Karma is updated six to eight times in 24-hours. Updates happen at approximately 12:05 am, 4:05 am, 8:05 am, 12:05 pm, 4:05 pm, and 8:05 pm (all times are Universal time). Although these do change depending on daylight saving and standard time. Plurk Intervals are fantastic when you’re aware of them. The reason being is, all you need to do is Plurk once between each interval, or most intervals and your karma will not decrease and continue to maintain itself and rise every time karma is updated. Here is a basic table of plurk intervals:

Tips 2: Respond to Plurks (your own or others) per interval.

Just like Plurking once per interval, responding – if only once will help you maintain your karma increase.Recently the karma system is updated so that even if you don’t Plurk between every interval your karma won’t decrease, but it also won’t increase as much when karma is updated.

A special tip for you all : you can not Plurk for 12-hours and your karma will not decrease, but will also not increase as much if at all. =)

Your Plurks must have at least one response from your friends or fans (or even those who are neither).

Tips 3: Invite, Invite, Invite! =)

RL....stands for Real Life Friends....ya ya...I know...Inviting would be a difficult task...even me hardly to invite my friends to join plurk. However, if you’re able to do a good sales job and get them on board, you’ll not only get extra Karma but you also get additional emoticons and star icons next to your name!

Tips 4: Use Plurk like an instant messenger program

Sounds easy to you? I don't think so! As far as I concern, all of us have different thinkings so It depends on how you want to turn your plurk into. Since you get Karma by plurking and responding, one of the easiest ways to raise it, is to chat to your friends on Plurk just like you would on GoogleTalk, Aim or MSN. You can create private Plurks where only you and the friends you choose, can see. I have a couple of my online friends that I chat with on Plurk – easy Karma! Just think it as a chatting room =)

Tip 5: Don’t just focus on Karma; focus on making friends!

When you’re engaged with people and discussing their stories, jokes, bad days, links and the like, your Karma score will grow naturally – especially if you learn to use it as a daily communications tool. You’ll also find these genuine interactions to be much more rewarding and enriching than a virtual score. And so adding people and people accepting your request will increase your karma a little. For instance, +0.20 (friendship requested accepted), be fans (+0.10), but becareful, once they declined, your karma may drop if they reject!

So I guess these five tips would help you all =) Hope these tips help my current and soon-to-be Plurk buddies!

For more info, u can just ask me! Thats all for now! =)

visit me on plurk HERE!

Plurk...what's that? (Part 1)

Okaiz, I have joined a lot of social networkings, learning about their programming and their ways to solve one simple method ---> "How to connect people?"....for the past 6 years, it has been increasing popular to everyone including me, who is also addicted to it! But this is not I want to share here today.....2 years ago...a new way of connecting people goes up in a new way by combining blogging with updating status....which is called micro blogging.....well....we have Twitter, the most famous of them all, but now I want to present....is PLURK!

so...when u heard about Plurk, what is the first impression? For me, it's about the Karma and timeline and of course, get in touch with friends!

My plurk!
So what's the fuss about Plurk? Well, plurk is a microblogging service which also solves the "what are you doing now" question and also a little mixture of messenger. For those who don’t know what Plurk is, it is a micro-blogging tool; kind of like a journal of your life. Very similar to Twitter, with 140 characters you can let your friends and world know what you’re thinking, doing or ranting about. I for one, use it more as a networking tool to connect with like-minded bloggers, developers and just fun-to-be with people! We share ideas, stories, feelings and every-day life events. Through Plurk I am now friends with some of the world’s most active social media experts!
So when I played plurk, I am soooo addicted with Karma that almost everyday I must visit it, like taking care of a baby! ?But I soon found out that there was a method to the madness and that plurking lots, didn’t exactly equate to soaring Karma scores, I’ve come up with a list of 5 tips you can follow to help you reach the higher echolons of Plurk without destroying your social life! I will continue this in the next post =)

For starters, If you really wanna try it out, I recommend you to come and join- No pain trying it out right? hehe

A poem to say goodbye to 2009...

A poem, from me to everyone, since it's 2 days left to New Year, let me post a poem~

Farewell old year,
We may not see
Your like again,
Though some remain

In memory
Of cheer or tear
Of achievements

Made or unmade,
Friends gained or lost,
Now like misers
We count the cost

And close the year,
Calendars tossed,
Diaries shut.

I am trying to think of a welcoming poem for new year, I hope It goes well =)

A Xmas family Reunion party

Thanks to everyone who took part in this party! At least 50/50 of our family attended this part.... didn't know my family is that BIG lolx

My Recipie 101: How to make Tang Yuan

Tang yuan (汤圆)is a dish of glutinous rice balls served in a sweet broth. In Chinese culture, it is traditionally served on Dong Zhi, the winter solstice. By eating tang yuan, you welcome in the winter and become one year older. Hehehehehe!
Tang yuan makes a delicious winter snack and is easy to prepare. Despite its association with mid-winter, it can be enjoyed at any time of year. So here it goes! =)

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

1 cup glutinous rice flour
4 ounces water
Brown sugar to taste
Food coloring (optional)
Fresh ginger (optional)
Preparation:

Pour the glutinous rice flour in a bowl and slowly add water until the mixture becomes the texture of dough. You may not need the entire 4 ounces of water to reach the proper consistency. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes. You can divide the dough in half and add food coloring to one half.

Pinch off pieces of the dough and roll it into small balls.

Drop the balls into boiling water and cook them until they float - about 5 to 10 minutes.

While the balls are cooking, prepare a sweet soup by boiling water and adding brown sugar. Fresh ginger can also be added to the soup.

Put the cooked balls into the soup and serve.

Tong Yuan can also be stuffed with a paste made from peanut butter, black sesame seeds, you can also add some M&M chocolates to make it sweeter =)

Hope this helps! haha

Dong Zhi is here again!

This year's Dong Zhi falls on the 22nd December! And It's tomorrow muahahaha~
So what is Dong zhi? I only know I had to eat tang yuan- 汤圆(marble-shaped glutinous rice ball) on this day, so i did a bit of research and here it goes:

The DONG ZHI is based on the solar term of the solar calendar, which is in this case, the 22nd solar term known also as dong zhi. It coincides with December 22 of the Gregorian calendar and perhaps sometimes it falls on the 21st or 23rd December but it was very rare.

Dong Zhi is the thanksgiving of the Chinese calendar. "Dong Zhi" literally means "arrival of winter". Coinciding with the winter solstice, it is an occasion for the family to get together to celebrate the good year they have had. Tang Yuan is cooked and eaten to symbolise unity and harmony within the family.

Dong Zhi occurs 6 weeks before Chinese New Year and would normally fall between 21st Dec to 23rd Dec.

Tang Yuan in chinese sounds like "reunion". Yuan, which means “round” or “a circle”, is also an auspicious word that suggests perfection. And it's very sweet and delicious!

There is also another saying that goes "Chi tang yuan, da yi nian (Eat tang yuan and grow older by a year).” and It means every year when we reunite, we grow older every year and it's fun to eat those tang yuan and remember the old days =)

So, make yourself at home, enjoy eating these delicious Tang Yuan! ^^ Wishing everyone happy Dong Zhi!~!

Sunday cooking trio lolz

Today morning my kakak is not at home, so I need to cook breakfast lolx, here's my photo after cooking, WESTERN style breakfast (Eggs, sausages, Bread and Ham) ! Delicious huh? hehe

Next is lunch, this time my dad cooks! Yum yum! But I forgotten to set my camera and captured it =P But definitely it's delicious!

At night, dinner time- time for my mom to cook! This time is Wet Fried Mee!! And I captured a few photos~
Yeap, my mom loves carrots so, a lot of carrots is added into the mee, yum yum- I miss my mom's cook very much!

This is the reason why I always cook at home....because at my town there is not much restaurants, unlike Kuala Lumpur or Kota Kinabalu, there is not even a Starbucks or any cafe! So, we need to cook at home and make my home looked like a restaurant as possible!
Does it Benefit us? For me, YES!!
1. Save money
2. You automatically learn how to cook
3. Automatically learn now to serve people lolz
4. Know how to decorate the food haha
5. Can eat with everyone
6. Very safe and clean! "Trustable" food lolz

Well, the disadvantages is perhaps....waste time in preparing and cook, dirty yourself and washing the dishes...but still, cooking at home is the best! =)

~The Wood of the Gods~

Have you ever heard of Agar wood? Agar Wood is often regarded as the "Wood of the Gods" or a very rare wood which is found in most of South and Southeast Asia. According to a few sources, agar wood is actually belong to a dark resinous heartwood that forms in Aquilaria trees when they become infected with a type of mold. These type of wood must be infected with these type of mold in order to become Agar Wood.

These type of wood is highly appreciated for thousands of years! And when you happen to have one Agar Wood which is in good condition, the price will be twice as the price of pure gold!! It can be turned into perfumes! The odour of agarwood is complex and pleasing, with few or no similar natural analogues. As a result, agarwood and its essential oil gained great cultural and religious significance in ancient civilizations around the world. Till today, Agar Wood is still one of the most important wood which is still traded around the world for it's outstanding qualities!
The wood is produced from a tree type called "Aquilaria", species of the trees of Thymelaeaceae, which in short, the native trees of Asia. 15 out of 23 species of Aquilaria can be transform into Agar Wood.

Aquilaria subintegra, found in Thailand
Aquilaria crassna found in Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia
Aquilaria malaccensis, found in Malaysia, Thailand, and India
Aquilaria apiculina, found in Philippines
Aquilaria baillonil, found in Thailand and Cambodia
Aquilaria baneonsis, found in Vietnam
Aquilaria beccarain, found in Indonesia
Aquilaria brachyantha, found in Malaysia
Aquilaria cumingiana, found in Indonesia and Malaysia
Aquilaria filaria, found in China
Aquilaria grandiflora, found in China
Aquilaria hilata, found in Indonesia and Malaysia
Aquilaria khasiana, found in India
Aquilaria microcapa, found in Indonesia and Malaysia
Aquilaria rostrata, found in Malaysia
Aquilaria sinensis, found in China

And what do we often call these woods in different languages?
Chén-xīang (沉香) in Chinese
"trầm hương" in Vietnamese
Jin-koh (沈香) in Japanese
Oud (عود) in Arabic (literally wood)
Lignum aquila (eagle-wood) or Agilawood in Europe
ཨ་ག་རུ་ (a-ga-ru) in Tibetan
"Gaharu" in Malay and Indonesian
"Ghara" in New Guinea
In Hindi (India), it is known as "agar", which is originally Sanskrit based.
"Mai Kritsana" (ไม้กฤษณา) in Thai
"Mai Ketsana". in Laos

To girls our there, you can now check your perfumes to see is there substances from Agar Wood? Because most of perfumes nowadays have at least 1% of it!

Thanks to my Dad who gives me the idea to do research on this Wood!!! And a few sources such as wikipedia! TQ!!

"What about now" lyrics

Shadows fill an empty heart
As love is fading,
From all the things that we are
But are not saying
Can we see beyond the scars
And make it to the dawn?

Change the colors of the sky
And open up to
The ways you made me feel alive,
The ways I loved you
For all the things that never died,
To make it through the night,
Love will find you

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

The sun is breaking in your eyes
To start a new day
This broken heart can still survive
With a touch of your grace
Shadows fade into the light
I am by your side,
Where love will find you

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love had never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

Now that we're here,
Now that we've come this far,
Just hold on
There is nothing to fear,
For I am right beside you.
For all my life,
I am yours.

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love had never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love had never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
Baby, before it's too late,
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

Hahaha, their songs this time is more to like choir singing, overall good!! I give a rating of 4.5 out of 5! Great!!!

Guess what? I found out my dad has white hair (Tonnes of it!!), and my lovely mom still have her sweet smile.....come to think of it, I just realized I left Sabah for almost a year, really miss them so much and I cried (Tears of joy)... quietly of course haha

I met Keith, Charles and Jerry, who as also there to greet us, and we have fun eating at MacDonald's haha. It was a happy moment =)

Still have another 3 hours back to Sipitang- well the journey back to Sabah was always a fun but tiring one- took almost 12 hours to get back to my house lolz. Anywayz, time to stop now =)
